During filming we had to answer a lot of questions, mostly about our finances. One of the things that kept coming up was our jobs. Hubs and I both felt really secure in our jobs, we both have very transferable skills and overall we felt it was safe to say we had good job security.
Well shucks, don't I look like an ass because guess who got laid off today?
Yup. That's right. This afternoon, what I thought was a conference call about my social media plan for 2013 turned out to be a call with my boss and HR telling me the company was, once again, doing a massive chunk of layoffs. Oh joy. Seriously? A month before Christmas?!!
LESS THAN A MONTH BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!!!
I got right to work. Called Hubs. He was quiet... he's a man, needs time to process. I'm mid-process, so I've gone from shocked to bummed to annoyed.
So now, less than a month before christmas and mere DAYS before my son's first birthday I am without a full time job. Half of me is freaking out, because I love, LOVE working! The other half of me is quietly saying "This is for the best!" so I think, for tonight at least, I am going to listen to the brave half of myself and tuck it in, think good thoughts and rest assured that everything will be coming up Christella again soon.
Fuck those fucking fuckers. But seriously, you're awesome and they will definitely sink without you so it's 100% their loss and since you rock, it'll all work out fantastic!! I just know it :)

ReplyDeleteThat really sucks! So sorry to hear that. It's their loss. You will find better. I hate hearing when these companies do this right before holidays. It's really crappy. You will end up on top as that is how you have to think.
